Mom and Dad Visit

I’ve been looking forward to June for months.  Two weeks with my parents was wonderful.  We spent time going to markets (Camden, Portobello, Greenwich, Columbia), visiting museums (British Museum, British Library, Tate Modern, National Gallery) and eating (local pubs, Italian, Japanese).  We spent a few days in Shakespeare Land, Stratford-Upon- Avon.   Cliff and Sheila met us in Stratford and we spent most our time dogging the rain.  Nevertheless, we had a nice time sharing umbrellas and coffees and catching up.  Mom, Dad, Jon, and I had made plans to visit Bruges for a few days.  Unfortunately, Mom and Jon were both feeling under the weather enough that we cancelled the trip.  We’ll just have to go another time!

Walking through St. James Park.

Going to see the Magna Carta in the British Library.

Having tea and ice cream in Fortnum and Mason.

A very old pub we visited in Stratford Upon Avon. The Garrick Inn has been around since 1594!

Watching the boats navigate through the narrow canals.

Dad helping a random woman crank the gates open.

Wandering around a quaint little village. I can’t remember the name.
